Our TEAM
At sdetch, our team isn’t made up of fashion elites or corporate executives in skyscrapers. We’re a diverse group of everyday people—parents, travelers, designers, builders, and doers—brought together by a simple idea:
“Let’s make bags that actually work for real life.”
From the beginning, we set out to create more than just another product—we wanted to solve problems.
How do you carry snacks, wet towels, sunscreen, and flip-flops without your bag turning into a mess?
How do you take a single tote from the beach to the grocery store to a rainy soccer game without compromising style or functionality?
These weren’t hypothetical questions. They were the ones we lived through, daily.
Our founders are parents, professionals, and creatives who were tired of bags that looked nice but failed under pressure—or bags that worked but made you feel like you were carrying laundry. We wanted a better way. And so, we formed a team with one goal: to design bags that keep up with the lives we actually live.
Design With Purpose, Not Just Aesthetic
Our design team approaches every new collection with practical empathy.
We don’t begin with fashion forecasts—we begin with feedback.
What’s frustrating you about your current bag?
Where do your items always get lost?
What do you wish you could wipe clean in two seconds flat?
We sketch and prototype with your lifestyle in mind. Our team includes industrial designers, moms of three, digital nomads, and nurses who work 12-hour shifts. We ask hard questions, build better closures, test durability, and make sure every pocket, every handle, and every panel has a reason to exist.
Our design studio doesn’t operate in isolation. Every week, we gather real-user feedback and use it to refine even the smallest details. If a bag tips over too easily in the trunk, we fix it. If the handle digs into your hand when it’s full, we redesign it. If a customer tells us they want a specific size between our Large and XL—guess what? We make it.
Hands That Build, Hearts That Care
Behind every sdetch bag is a skilled craftsperson. Our production partners are artisans and technicians who understand that quality is never an accident—it’s a commitment. From material cutting to final stitching, our products pass through hands that take pride in precision, cleanliness, and reliability.
Many of our team members have worked in soft goods manufacturing for decades. They bring not only technical skill but also insight into what makes a bag durable in high-stress environments—like sand, rain, kids, groceries, or repeated impact.
We also work with sustainable material specialists who help us source better alternatives, reduce waste, and innovate packaging that aligns with our values. Our operations team carefully manages every batch to ensure that the bag you get is the bag we promised.
A Culture of Listening and Learning
At sdetch, we believe great teams are built on curiosity and humility.
We ask. We test. We listen. We learn.
There are no egos here—only ideas.
We run weekly “bag labs,” where our staff members bring in their sdetch bags after using them in the wild. We open them up, analyze wear and tear, review use patterns, and brainstorm together. From casual Friday surf trips to chaotic Monday daycare drops, we build based on real use, not assumptions.
Our customer service team isn’t just here to handle returns—they’re a critical part of our development loop. Every review, message, and photo is shared directly with product and design teams. It’s not uncommon for a single user story to inspire a full redesign or the birth of a whole new product line.
Built By a Community, Not Just a Company
At its heart, sdetch is a team effort between us and our customers.
We don’t just launch products—we co-create them with a community that cares.
From Instagram polls about new colors to beta-testing programs where select customers try unreleased designs, our community is our creative partner.
That’s why our team doesn’t just include the people in the office or the workshop.
It includes you—
The mom who packs for five.
The college student racing across campus.
The teacher balancing her laptop and her lunch.
The dad who’s mastered the art of beach setup in ten minutes flat.
You help us build what matters.
And as we grow, we stay grounded in what brought us here:
Real people, real challenges, and the relentless pursuit of bags that just work.
We’re proud of our team. Not just for their ideas, but for their integrity.
Not just for their execution, but for their empathy.
We build together—with sweat, laughter, and purpose.
At the end of the day, we don’t make fashion statements.
We make life easier.
And if our bag made your Monday smoother, your beach day cleaner, or your trunk a little less chaotic—then we’ve done our job.
